THEY TALK ABOUT WORSHIP HERE
The history of the Kore. Ydro.
Poetic, dramatic, funny, children of MTV with the background of Corfu, the Kore. Ydro. were as busy as few bands in the Greek indie pop/rock scene, receiving adoration and derision. The documentary Here they talk about worship follows their entire career, focusing on their two main members, but also on the importance of being special without being ashamed of it.
DIRECTOR’S NOTE
We have known P.E. Dimitriadis for over 15 years. I approached him as a journalist. I soon became a friend and fan. I wanted to make a documentary about Kore. Because I love them, because their story is one of the most touching and because I noticed several young people praising them as the best representatives of an absolute, poetic and dramatic love, bordering on ridiculousness, which in our time is more and more rarely thriving.
We went to Corfu. We discovered archival material that no one has ever seen. We unraveled the whole story of the band from their teenage years to their breakup. We talked to Athenians who loved and mocked them. Most importantly: We broke the silence of Alexandros Makris, that mysterious musical genius who always chose darkness. The protagonist, of course, remains Pantelis, who during filming was described by Director of Photography Yannis Colozis as a “super hero”.
I’m not a director. I have neither experience nor ambition. What I’ve tried to do is live up to the Kore. Hydro.
