Short description
On a winter morning in 1997, a father unwittingly leads his two children on an unnatural journey into the future while struggling with his addictions.
Summary
Lesvos, year 1997, Gulf of Gera. A father is waiting at the port to pick up his two young children while having a cigarette. From the opposite shore, their mother helps them to board the gazolina (boat). When the children arrive, they are older than when they started their journey. They formally greet their father and board the car, which will take them to a field of olive groves. There, three large poplars rise up with different heights, corresponding to the three heroes. They immediately get down to farm work. The trees and the children grow abruptly whenever the father smokes or gets angry. Suddenly the father realizes that time has passed unnaturally fast, seeing that his children have grown up quite a bit. Confused by what is real and what is memory, he falls into a golden crater opened in the ground by the rapid growth of trees, and becomes one with the great poplar. Years later the sons return to the field. They climb up the big tree. A rustle shakes the branches and the big leaves embrace the children.
