The Mediterranean Hip Hop (post-production)

A studio, a van, a music collective that counts 25 years of history. The gaze of an Italian anthropologist guides us on a fascinating journey without borders with an eye on the people and an eye on Mediterranean hip hop.

The documentary “The Mediterranean Hip Hop” follows Social Waste, illuminating the challenges, the emotions and the power of collective, independent creation.

Social anthropologist, filmmaker and friend of the band Alfonso De Munno Gallardo delves into the lives of the band, and presents the story of a band that for 25 years has been an unconventional musical project created out of the need for a collective that does not follow the classical forms of the music industry.

Through personal testimonies and rich archival material, we will see the lives of the members and how, although they are so different from each other, they manage to create something collective and at the same time diverse. A puzzle of contrasts.
